World Kabaddi League to open in London with Akshay Kumar show

After captivating fans globally with his inimitable stage performances for over two decades the Bollywood star Akshay Kumar will set a new personal best on Saturday, 9th August 2014, when he performs on stage for an astounding 500th time. This impressive milestone will take place at the inaugural show to open the first international World Kabaddi League (WKL) tournament at the iconic landmark, London’s O2 Arena.

Akshay Kumar, who is a fan of the sport of Kabaddi and recently bought the team, ‘Khalsa Warriors’, will also be in London attending the premiere of his upcoming romantic-comedy ‘Entertainment’, taking place at IMAX Cinema – Science Museum on Friday 8th August 2014.

The Wave World Kabaddi League (Wave WKL), is the first international Kabaddi league. The league officials are confident that “Akshay’s magic will bind a spell on the audience and make both the movie and the Wave WKL a great success”.

The sports extravaganza will start Aug 9 and will be held till Dec 13 during which various national and international Kabaddi players will be seen in action via eight franchises.

Excited about the international premiere of his new film, Akshay said in a statement: “My fans have always appreciated my comic characters. I am delighted to announce the premiere of my new comedy film ‘Entertainment’.

“The movie has rib-tickling sense of humour and will surely makes all fans come out smiling from the theatres. I am thankful to Wave WKL for hosting the premiere of the film. Also I urge all my fans to support my Kabaddi team Khalsa Warriors.”
